About Me

Hello Hunnies! Thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to read about me. Since I know you're all busy, I'll try and keep everything short and sweet!

My name is Annika, I'm 17, and I'm a little Filipina from Cerritos, California. I technically got really into kpop in December 2014, but I've had kpop phases throughout my life. The first two kpop songs I ever heard were "Replay" by SHINee and "Shock" by BEAST. Then, I had another episode when Hyuna released "Bubble Pop" and now here I am today!

What's "Hanbok Hunnie"? Well, it's a pun that my friend and I made up. A Hanbok is a traditional Korean dress that Koreans wear for important events such as weddings and ceremonies. "Hunnie" is a play on the word "unnie" and "honey". Unnie (언니) is the word girls call their older sister/sibling. Honey is just meant to be a cute, endearing term heh. And that's how we came up with hunnie!

I tried to start a YouTube channel as most kpop fans aspire to do, but I was too busy with school and life to frequently update. However, I wanted to contribute to the kpop community, so I figured I'd combine two things I love: kpop and writing! My content will vary from album reviews to weekly charts to articles on provocative subjects relating to Korean entertainment. This blog is not limited to kpop! I'll also talk about Korean pop culture in general and even Korean dramas.

Other than kpop, I play basketball, dance, and write poetry. Nachos are the way to my heart and Target is life. Feel free to send me a message if you have requests, need advice, or just in general someone to talk to. I don't bite!

Thank you for the support! (And please excuse my cheesy prom picture. I looked pretty decent that day, if I do say so myself.)
